Gemma Townsend M.Ost

Unique Body Clinic Owner, Osteopath, Phlebotomist, Student Nutritional Therapist, Acupuncturist.

Hello, I am Gemma, Osteopath and owner of Unique Body Clinic.

I opened UBC in May 2009 starting from a one room facility and building the clinic to the 9 room facility it is today. I am privileged to have a fantastic team within the clinic who are so passionate about helping people.

I am also a qualified initially as a Sports Therapist and Personal Trainer and decided after running my business for a while to apply to The British School of Osteopathy in 2016. It was my dream to become an Osteopath, so I then completed a 5 year Masters degree alongside running the clinic, and it has been the toughest, yet most rewarding thing I have done. I started a Nutrition degree at the beginning of 2024 to better understand the more inflammatory patient presentations, and help and support people from the inside out also.

Being a Sports Therapist for over 14 years has given me a great deal of experience working with injury and pain, coupled now with my Osteopathy training, I am keen to work with people to find the root cause of their pain, understanding why and progressing patients to a pain-free lifestyle.

I use techniques such as Manipulation (that clicking sound you hear), articulation, massage, MET stretching. Gemma will explain her findings, help you understand what is happening and supply exercise education where needed so you can aid your own recovery.

I treats a multitude of conditions, some of which are:

Migraines/headaches, Sports/General injury, Sciatic Pain, Lower/Mid/Upper back pain/ache, Jaw pain, Knee/Hip/Shoulder/Ankle/Wrist/Foot pain and much more. I also carry out private blood draw for people wanting to understand biomarkers, Health checks, and I have just started to run Small Group fitness classes within the facility for these wanting to improve health and fitness.

I can be booked online selecting:

Osteopathic Initial Consultation, Osteopathic Follow up, General Appointment with Gemma Townsend
